Pre GA Thoughts

Three of us from Central Washington Presbytery will attend the 218th General Assembly of the PCUSA in San Jose California which begins Saturday June 21, 2008.  Bob Welsh (elder delegate from First Pres Wenatchee), Hannah Ziegler (Youth advisory Delegate from Bethany Pres Grandview), and Curt McFarland (Minister delegate from First Yakima).

We have each received volumes of material to review: books, DVDs, and printed material from a wide variety of interest groups attempting to sway the opinions of delegates.  We have also been studying 150+ overtures which we will ultimately vote on.  A number of these overtures will be changed as they go through the various sub committees they are assigned to.

Throughout the week each of the Central Washington delegates will contribute to this blog.  I have appreciated the prayers and support of many throughout the Presbytery as the three of us prepare for this important role in the life and future of the PCUSA.
